The Countdown to Christmas at Pretend City
We visited as a guest of the venue
Pretend City Children’s museum has a Countdown to Christmas going on right now. Each day leading up to Christmas they will be ”unwrapping” a new holiday activity at the museum.
My son and I were invited to a Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus. What a treat this visit was.
All the children in attendance had a nice one-on-one conversation with Santa while they ate their pancakes and fruit. They also had hot cocoa and marshmallows to enjoy.
Once done eating the children decorated a star for their craft and sung Christmas carols with Santa and Mrs. Claus. We enjoyed this a lot.
The kids also were read a story by Mrs. Claus. Just when we thought things couldn’t be better, the kiddos were invited to take pictures with Santa and sit on his lap. It was special for my son.
He asked him questions and really had him engaged. When they were done talking, he was given a new book and candy cane from Santa. He was pleased about this and could not wait to go to school to show his friends his new book.
When our event ended, we were allowed to roam around the museum. I especially love this part.
Everything at Pretend City is decorated for the holidays. Lights are hung all around, and other decorations adorn the different areas.
My son really loved the dance stage, it was decorated and inside they had holiday outfits for the kids to dress up in to get into the holiday spirit.
He spent time building, shopping and being a captain before he made it to the water area. Once here he did not want to leave. It has been all my kid’s favorite area since Pretend City first opened.
After playing we stopped to listen to story time with Mrs. Claus, she was charming and called my son up to be her helper during her story.
My son usually is shy, but I was happy to see him break out of his shell and help lead the kids. I really cannot say enough great things about Pretend City.
All their events are, and they go above and beyond to give the kids a fun and educational time no matter what they are doing.
If you have not been yet, you should go. After Christmas, they will have a fun New Year’s Eve confetti countdown extravaganza that is sure to be an excellent time for all.
Be sure to follow them on Facebook and at pretendcity.org for more details.
