The Discovery of King Tut at the San Diego Natural History Museum

King Tut Exhibit 1

It is a great time to plan a visit to the San Diego History Museum with the arrival of The Discovery of King Tut exhibit. The west coast premiere of the exhibit will only be at the museum until April 26th, and it will take your kid’s on an in-depth journey into the discovery of King Tut’s tomb.

When planning to visit the exhibit, families need to plan at least 2-3 hours to discover and learn (and an additional couple of hours to explore the rest of the museum). The journey begins with a video that uncovers how the tomb of King Tut was discovered. Then the audio receivers guide your family through the three-level exhibit uncovering a world of knowledge and learning.

The kids were not the only ones who enjoyed learning during our visit but also me and my husband. History was brought to life in a fun way at the exhibit, and we learned things that we never knew about the ancient Egyptian area. There are displays showing exactly how the tomb looked with it was discovered and hundreds of replicas of the artifacts.

After we had been done learning about King Tut, our family left the museum to have lunch before returning to explore the many wonders at the San Diego Natural History Museum. Don’t miss this great educational opportunity for your kids to learn about Egypt, King Tut and ancient Egyptian era.
