The House of Blues is Back

We attended the preview as a guest of the venue

House of Blues Anaheim

We have exciting news to share with all of you and especially the music lovers; House of Blues in Anaheim is opening at the end of this month! Yes, the legendary venue will be back on February 28, 2017, and who better to perform on opening night than Social Distortion! Did you know that Social Distortion holds the record for the longest sold out residency sales? Yes, at 30 days in a row.

We were thrilled to attend the recent preview event and guided tour to get a sneak peek of the first House of Blues to be built in a decade and the only one of its kind on the west coast; it’s an incredible space! It’s twice the size of the former Anaheim location with 44,000 square feet and not just one or two stages but four, which means it can accommodate various size acts; they could even all be booked at the same time. It means more entertainment and music for everyone.

House of Blues Construction

The venue is still under construction, so we cruised around in hard hats to check it out. First up, The Parish Room which will hold 400 standing people and 200 people sitting, featuring a very cool stage with a backdrop of a 100-year-old clock. We’ve seen some of the best artists in other Parish Room locations of House of Blues; so we can’t wait to check this stage out here.

The Foundation Room is back with the capacity of 175 people; also known as a VIP area. One of our favorite’s about the Foundation Room is the Membership. While you pay for that VIP treatment; those memberships serve youth who are interested and passionate about music. It’s a very cool program.

What’s the other reason we love House of Blues? The touch of Southern hospitality and the food! The signature Restaurant & Bar will be the perfect spot to relax, laugh, listen to tunes and enjoy that delicious Southern meal. The Voodoo Shrimp is a savory dish of Shrimp in a creamy and flavorful sauce served alongside Jalapeño Cornbread. Pure comfort! Come hungry, so you can try one each or bring a group for Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Salad, BBQ Smoked Ribs; tender, tangy and they better bring us more ribs and napkins. Great traditional dishes like New Orleans Jambalaya and Gumbo are a couple of those iconic favorites that will be available too.

Now we can’t forget the gem of the venue; the Main Concert Stage with the capacity to hold 2,200 people. This space will feature two levels; the large open space at the foot of the stage and the upper level; good news every seat has a fantastic view! Also, you’ll find bars located on both levels as well as some seating upstairs that we’ve not seen before at other venues. You’ll find this location to be more contemporary with the familiar vibe of House of Blues we’ve all grown to love.

House of Blues Bartenders

We suggest you take a peek at their upcoming concert events and you’ll find the Gospel Brunch will be back too. In familiar House of Blues style, there is something for everyone.
