The Magic of The Nutcracker at The Segerstrom Center for the Arts

We visited as a guest of the venue

Every time I watch the Nutcracker ballet, it just gets more and more amazing. I have to say when I saw it this year at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, I never wanted it to end.

The dancers and the costumes were mesmerizing, and the traditional dances made me want never to take my eyes off the stage.

We arrived at the theater and took our seats, eagerly waiting for the show to begin. We the dancers finally came out it was fun to start humming in my head some of the original Nutcracker songs that no one can forget.

As I watched the dancers spin around and around, I was captured into a world of fairytales and magical nutcrackers. When the Nutcracker turned into a real person, I was so excited to watch the rest of the show.

With the dance being one of my many traditions over the holiday season, when going to see The Nutcracker very few things change, but the dancers are always different and always have a different take on the story.

This year one of my favorite dancers Hee Seo when she danced the role of Clara, The Princess. Her take on the dance was beautiful as she spun and was lifted off the ground. Her dance was absolutely breathtaking.

I went with my mom to see the ballet, and we had such a fantastic time taking pictures at the classic Nutcracker photo op and sharing our favorite scenes and costumes after the show.

Watching The Nutcracker is one of my favorite holiday traditions, and this year it was everything I wanted it to be and more.

The Nutcracker is at Segerstrom Center for the Arts until December 23, 2018. If you haven’t bought your tickets, make sure to buy them now so you can experience the holiday magic of The Nutcracker.

  1. Hi Ella! I saw your article on Twitter that Segerstrom liked. I’m glad you liked the show. My son Kellan was the Nutcracker boy for the show you saw with Hee Seo. Coincidentally, Kellan has a sister at OCSA now, a senior, and a brother who graduated 2 yrs ago. Both in the acting conservatory. Keep up with the blog. Good luck!
