The Rivers of America at Disneyland

We visited as a guest of Disney

The highly anticipated time has come for The Rivers of America to reopen at Disneyland. The Disneyland classics are back and better than ever for your family to experience while creating lifelong memories together.

The Mark Twain Riverboat
One of the most beloved classics, The Mark Twain Riverboat is ready for families to go on a journey along the Rivers of America. Storytelling is richly embedded in the attraction, making it a fully immersive experience for guests. While on the riverboat, your family will be transported to a different time along the river. You’ll hear a story and witness beautiful nature and animal life. I recommend bringing your children to the Mark Twain Riverboat during a warmer part of the day so they can have a short rest, relax, and then they will be re-energized to explore more of the Disneyland Resort.

Tom Sawyer’s Island
It is a magical place where children can do imaginary play. The island is full of places for children to explore and feel like they are on an adventure. There are beautiful nature paths, waterfalls, rock tunnels, and bridges. The island is a great place for parents to enjoy lunch with their children at one of the picnic tables and take a break from the crowds and excitement happening around Disneyland. When I brought my children to the island, they spent hours immersed in rich imaginary play, and they didn’t want the fun to end.

Sailing Ship Columbia
Bring your swashbuckling little pirates for the adventure of a lifetime aboard the Sailing Ship Columbia. Children will feel like they are pirates as they embark on a journey along the Rivers of America on the 18th-century ship. While sailing, you’ll get beautiful views of the wildlife living along the river and the Disneyland Park.

Disneyland Railroad
One of my favorite things to do with my children when visiting Disneyland is riding along the Disneyland Railroad. Walt Disney loved nature and shared that with the world with his True-Life Adventures and the Disneyland Railroad. When Walt Disney drew his first designs of the park, it started with the railroad encompassing the park. For the first time ever, the railroad goes into the park and makes its first left hand turn. It has been updated, and your family will feel like they are experiencing the Disneyland Railroad for the first time when experiencing it now at Disneyland.

Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes
My children love to ride on the Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes around The Rivers of America. They love to splash me a little as we paddle with a group of guests along the river. The guides make the experience fun and tell more stories of The Rivers of America while riding in the canoes. Cool down with a ride on Splash Mountain once you’re done getting a good workout while paddling your canoe.

Enjoy lunch at the Hungry Bear Restaurant once your family is done experiencing the newly re-opened attractions at The Rivers of America. This restaurant has a large outdoor dining patio that provides beautiful views of the nature surrounding The Rivers of America while families eat lunch.
