Toddlers Explore Nature in New Creative Playgroup in OC Canyons

Motion with me action shot

Starting this November 6th, Mary Montgomery will lead a structured playgroup called In Motion with Me at the newly renovated Silverado Children’s center.

“This program will help your toddler reach his or her full potential,” Montgomery said. “Creative activities in the great outdoors will enrich your toddler’s language, movement, artistic, and social development.”

Montgomery plans to incorporate nature themes with puppetry, dance, and storytelling throughout the four-week class. With fifteen years experience in creative education, Montgomery also developed and ran a creative arts program for children in San Francisco for five years.

After Montgomery saw how much her sons learned from and enjoyed their time at the center’s pre-school, she agreed to help director Laurie Briggs develop a new toddler program.

The class will meet on Thursdays from 9:30-11:00 AM for four weeks, beginning November 6th, skipping Thanksgiving week. During the first hour, Mary Montgomery will lead a structured playgroup. For the last half hour, children can unwind with unstructured play in the center’s playground and interact with the animals and nature on the grounds.

When paid in advance, a discounted rate of $85 is available for entire four-week session. Per class rate is $25. An additional $35.00 Materials/Registration Fee applies. A responsible adult must accompany children attending this program.

To find out more or register for the class, please call (714) 649-2214 or email [email protected] The website for center is http://silveradochildrenscenter.com. And the center’s address is 7525 Santiago Canyon Rd, Silverado, CA 92676.
