Top OC Splash Pads

With summer officially here, splash pads are a part of our daily “fun” agenda. So, when your family is looking to cool off, have fun – without breaking the bank, here are some splash pad favorites.

Sigler Park Splash Pad
7200 Plaza Street
Westminster, CA 92683

These non-stop re-circulated water fountains will be sure to delight your children on those blistering hot days. Bright colors and delightful characters make this park a must visit for summer fun. This park also has a playground for young and older kids. Open with limited hours May 23 – September 27. Open daily June 22 – September 27. Regular water play hours are 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. On July 22 hours will be limited to 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.

Pioneer Park

Due to the drought, this water feature of this park is closed, however, the remainder of the park is open.

Ahoy Matey! The pirate ship playground and its “wet saloon” are sure to be enjoyed by all your lil’ pirates. The water feature is adjacent to the shaded concrete picnic tables. Open May 25 – September 2, Monday – Sunday 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Heritage Park
14301 Yale Avenue
Irvine, CA 92604

This splash pad area is surrounded by a beautiful lake, community center, arts center and library. You may want to bring rubber-soled water shoes to avoid the bird droppings. Water park area is open 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. daily. Located at the corner of Walnut and Yale.

Lemon Park Spray Pool
701 S. Lemon Street
Fullerton, CA 92832

Lemon Park doesn’t mess around when it comes to getting wet with a fully equipped and gated water park. Enjoy a picnic nearby after getting drenched. Water play hours: 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Don’t forget a towel and bathing suit – you’ll need it!

Irvine Spectrum

Irvine Spectrum has a small splash pad area next to Target and Children’s Place stores. This water fountain is perfect for small children and has a relatively new playground nearby. Shoes recommended. This can be a busy area so be sure to keep any eye on your little ones.

Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center and Pool

Aliso Viejo, CA 92656

This resort style pool features a splash pad, toddler pool and water fountains. Admission to the Aliso Viejo Aquatic Center for residents is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Non-residents pay $2 more.

Atlantis Play Center Splash Pad
13630 Atlantis Way
Garden Grove, CA 92844

This ocean themed park with its sea serpent slide provides some serious splash pad action. Just $2 per child (age two and under free). Hours: Tuesday – Friday 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Sunday– 4:00 p.m. Opens June 9, 2015. Children under age five must be accompanied by a parent. Bathing suits required. Shoes recommended.

Courtney’s SandCastle Universal Playground
987 Vista Hermosa
San Clemente, CA 92673

The Courtney’s SandCastle Universal Playground is a new location that opened in March of 2015. It is located in the Vista Hermosa Sports Park and Aquatics Center. Kids will enjoy a day of excitement in a variety of sensory environments, including a tide pool, fountain, granite water ball, wind sculpture and musical elements. The playground is open 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. daily.

Valencia Park Wading Pool

Fullerton, CA 92832

This wading pool is perfect for small children, located next to Valencia Park Elementary, Valencia Park is truly a park that was built by the community, and even designed by students of the nearby school.

Miraloma Park and Family Resource Center

This relatively new park has a full splash pad that is sure to get your kids soaked and smiling. Parking is limited. Located near the 57 and 91 freeway interchange.
