Top Teen Film: The House with a Clock in Its Walls

Since summer is over and I have gone back to school, I have been waiting for a movie to go see with my friends to come out. Seeing movies is something I love to do, and I don’t have a lot of time to do it because of school. When I heard that The House with A Clock in its Walls was coming to the theaters, I was so excited to get together a group of friends and go see it. When I told my mom how excited I was, she surprised me by telling me that a friend and I would be able to see one of the first screeners of the new Disney Film.

I did some research on the film before going to the theater in LA. I had figured out that one of my all-time favorite actors was going to be in the movie… Jack Black. I also found out that the film was also a novel written by John Bellairs before hitting the big screen. I watched the trailer at least six times and couldn’t wait until the weekend to watch the movie.

When I sat down in the theater with my popcorn and soda, I couldn’t wait to watch the film with one of my best friends. Finally, the curtain dropped, and it had started. From the moment I first saw Jack Black on the screen, I knew I was going to love it! Watching the trailer, I didn’t think it was going to be as funny as it actually was. The whole film made me laugh more than five times, and there was never a dull moment. I also could hear the entire crowd laughing as a little boy with no parents living with his crazy uncle discovered his own magic.

This movie is not only drop dead hilarious, but it also portrays a good message for children everywhere. A little boy does something horribly wrong while trying to impress kids at school and acts like someone he is not. I am not going to spoil anything for you because you need to see it for yourself, but the boy learns his lesson. When I walked out of the theater, I walked away with a new attitude towards the world.

The House with a Clock in its Walls is out in theaters today! This movie does have a few scary scenes in it, so I wouldn’t recommend taking your super little ones, but this is definitely a movie you will want to see either with your tween or teenager. Hey, I’m a teenager, and I loved it! Or have your kid get together and watch it with a bunch of friends because this is for sure a movie that you can enjoy while being with the people you love.
