Delicious Turmeric Root Hummus Recipe
After getting some fresh Turmeric Root from Melissa’s Produce, I couldn’t wait to experiment with it. The first thing that I thought of making was hummus. My kids love hummus, and I was curious to see what it would taste like with Turmeric Root in it.
If you’re not familiar with Turmeric root, many claim it to have super healing powers. People eat or drink foods with Turmeric Root daily to help with inflammation, cancer and many major diseases.
Turmeric Root is Available at Melissa’s Produce
Turmeric root is easy to find online at Melissa’s website. It can also be found at many retailers that sell Melissa’s fresh, and seasonal produce. Plus, one package goes a long way.
Use it to make soups, curries, and add to your favorite recipes.
Once we made some flavorful hummus, that all my kids devoured it, and we continued to make a soup and tea. (The tea that we made is the best tea that I’ve ever had) Also, I can’t wait to continue to make more recipes for my kids to enjoy.
Ingredients for Turmeric Root Hummus
1 15.5 Ounce can of garbanzo beans
3 Inches of fresh Turmeric root
1/4 Cup olive oil
2 Tablespoons of Tahini
2 Garlic cloves
1 Tablespoons lemon
1 Teaspoon cumin
Salt and Pepper to taste
How to Make the Hummus
1. First, you’ll want to peel the Turmeric root.
2. Next, grate the root.
3. In a blender or food processor, add all the ingredients.
4. Blend until the hummus is thick and creamy.
How to Serve Hummus
Your children can enjoy the hummus with pita bread or pita chips. It is also delicious with freshly cut carrots or celery.
