Ultimate Family Staycation at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach

We stayed as a guest of Newport Beach

With the Newport Beach Film Festival starting next week, it is the perfect time to plan a staycation at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach. I have been coming to the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach every Easter Sunday for brunch since I was just a little girl, and for the first time, my family planned a staycation at the resort over Spring Break.

I could not wait to arrive at the resort for the weekend, so the kids and I arrived early for a little pool time before my husband was done at work. The kids were greeted from the front desk staff with warm chocolate chip cookies and sippy cups that they could use throughout the resort for unlimited drink refills.

Then it was time to check-out the pool! The resort went through a recent remodel, adding a killer water slide that was about to become the highlight of our kids trip. The kids were jumping, splashing, sliding and challenging each other for a game of Marco Polo. While the kids were playing in the pool, I was relaxing under the lavish poolside cabana. The service around the pool was stellar as there was always someone asking if I needed anything. It was the perfect way to unwind from the stress of the week and prepare for our mini vacation right in our own backyard of Newport Beach.

When our room was ready for check-in, an employee greeted us at the pool with our keys and escorted us to our room for the weekend. Since we have a large family, we stayed in one of the resort villas. The villa had three bedrooms, two floors, living room, breakfast nook, kitchen and our own private pool. The kitchen was our favorite part of the room because we were able to use it to prepare all  the food for my son who has severe food allergies.

The kids spent the rest of the afternoon swimming in their own private pool and creating unforgettable memories together.

Just as the sun started to set, our family got dressed for a relaxing walk around the lush property before dinner at the on site restaurant, SHOR American Seafood Grill.

After dinner, our family sat around the living room playing a board game while talking about our favorite parts of the day, and even found time for a quick late night swim. The kids laughed with us until it was time to turn out the lights, and go to sleep so we could wake-up to another fun day at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach.
