Undiscovered Taylor Bay in the Turks and Caicos
We attended the Beaches Social Media on the Sand Conference
While exploring Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos, we were in search of the “perfect beach.” While Grace Bay is well-known for being the best beach on the island, we were looking for something a little more private, and with calmer waves for younger children to frolic and play in the crystalline turquoise waters. When we first arrived on the island, we asked a couple of locals where we could find a beach like this, and they all said the same thing – Taylor Bay.
The day that we set out to explore Taylor Bay Beach, we were not having ideal beach weather on the island. There was a threat of thunderstorms, but we didn’t let that stop us from jumping into our rental car to explore. As we made our way around the island towards Taylor Bay, we were captivated by the beautiful ocean views that could be seen along the Providenciales coastline.
We followed instructions to the beach on a map that was given to us from the visitors center desk in the lobby of the airport, and we pulled off the main road onto a small dirt road where we discovered this beautiful hidden gem. There are no marked signs for the beach, and I recommend getting a map upon arrival, and asking locals to help guide you to Taylor Beach on your map. Everyone on the island is friendly and wants to help visitors to enjoy the beautiful island in which they live.
Once our eyes met the beach – we were in a true paradise. We had the entire cove to ourselves, and our family immediately jumped into the water and started having fun. The water was shallow enough for our kids to walk out for miles without the water ever getting higher than their waste. The crystal clear water was filled with a plethora of colorful fish, and we could have spent forever with our eyes in the water.
Unfortunately, our time at Taylor Bay was cut short due to rain that finally began to fall from the sky. Even though the rain started to drizzle, the water and the temperature were still warm that it just felt like we were running in a hot shower while making our way towards the rental car.

The delicious lobster at Bugaloo’s
We ended our day celebrating our memories together over lunch at one of our favorite island local dining destinations, Bugaloo’s. We savored freshly caught lobster and cracked conch while listening to the rain dancing on the windows.
When visiting Providenciales in the Turks & Caicos, I highly recommend renting a rental car so that your family can discover Taylor Bay. I guarantee that it will leave a lasting memory in the hearts of your children forever.
I’m glad to see photos from Taylor Bay! One of the semi-locals joined my Periscopes and she insisted we go there for calm, beautiful waters. While we never left the resort, it’s nice to see a taste of life outside of Beaches!
