UPLIFT Yoga Bash – Starry Night

We attended as a guest of UPLIFT

Yoga has been a part of me for quite some time now. I’m sure most of our readers here know the benefits of yoga first-hand also. My current quest is to introduce yoga to my boys because I know all the great things that will come of it!

So I was super excited when I learned about this wonderful charity event involving yoga, music, dance, all outdoors and under the stars at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. UPLIFT Yoga Bash is a very popular yoga fundraiser that benefits UPLIFT Teen Yoga, a research-based program that brings yoga and mindfulness to teens, brought about by Keep Friendship Alive and its founder Erica Austin.
The sold-out event took place on 9/19 (Friday), from 6pm to 11pm. About 800 yogis took part in this magical gathering, and I was very fortunate enough to be there and see everything that was taking place.
The event started off with a VIP Pre-Party, which included custom body art, braid bar, interactive photo booth, live music, hors d’oeuvres, juice bar, acro yoga performance, and a huge swag bag full of wonderful gifts. VIP ticket holders also got “first dibs” with their mat placement for the main yoga event later in the evening.
Sponsors included BEYOND YOGA, Suja, yogitoes, LA YOGA, Whole Foods Market, Mizu, LUNA, Manduka, YogaWorks, lovepray jewelry, Rana Nader Yoga Jewelry, Aveda, and a whole bunch of other businesses and creative people.

After the VIP Party, the main event started off with a Water Blessing Ceremony with Shamans John and Eden. Yoga and Dance Flow followed that, and the night finished off with the OM Circle. This year, my main objective was to go and see what this event was about…But next year, I am definitely going to take my mat and participate in the entire event! Such a beautiful event benefitting our teens…it’s a win-win situation for everybody!
