Upscale Pizza at Pitfire Pizza in Costa Mesa

We dined at Pitfire Pizza as a guest of the venue

Pizza is the key to my heart. There can never be too much pizza in your life. So, when our family plans dinner out, we usually end up having pizza. There are so many choices when it comes to having pizza in Orange County, and I am always looking for somewhere new to try. Recently, we went to Pitfire Pizza in Costa Mesa, and it was love at first bite.

Ambiance at Pitfire Pizza

The downside to many pizza places is the ambiance. They are usually loud and have kids running everywhere. What I love the most about Pitfire Pizza is the ambiance. The restaurant has a beautiful bar in the center, multiple tables, and a beautiful outdoor patio. If you’re looking for a more upscale pizza place – this is it.

Farmer’s Market Place

The restaurant offers a wide variety of seasonal items on their menu. The one thing that caught my eye was the farmer’s market plate. My family loves vegetables, and we could not wait to try it. My kids favorite on the plate was the shaved brussels sprouts salad. Whereas, my favorite was the roasted carrots with fennel and greek yogurt. The dish also included a flavorful winter ratatouille. This dish is a must for your family to order.

Charcuterie Board

Whenever there is a charcuterie board on the menu, my daughter gets so excited. I decided to surprise her by ordering one at Pitfire. The appetizer included La Quercia Prosciutto, Zoe’s Salami and Coppa. The dish is simple, and yet such an excellent prelude to your dinner.

Shaved Kale Salad

Since I am on a strict diet, I decided to have the shaved kale salad. The salad was light, flavorful, and filling. On top of a bed of kale are pickled raisins, toasted almonds, red onions, and parmesan. There is also the option of adding chicken to make it more filling.

Steak Salad

Then there is the steak salad. I had one bite of this salad, and the flavor combination was incredible. The salad features blue cheese, avocado, onion, walnuts, and a shallot vinaigrette. The salad is large enough for 2-3 people to share, so I recommend getting one for your family to split before your pizza arrives.

Bolognaise pizza at Pitfire Pizza in Costa Mesa

You can’t come to Pitfire without trying some of their pizzas. We ordered the bolognese pizza (seasonal) and the pesto chicken pizza. The pizzas are thin crust and come with the perfect amount of toppings. I love that they don’t put too much sauce and cheese on their pizzas so that you can experience all of the flavors with each bite.
