Ways To Celebrate Valentine’s Day At Home

Believe it or not, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. However, this year will be unlike any other. As the country continues to deal with the pandemic, couples may not be able to celebrate like they’re used to. Travel restrictions and quarantine requirements make taking a vacation a bit challenging. Not to mention, many date night activities (i.e., dinner, movies, nightclubs, etc.) aren’t safe. On the upside, couples can create romantic experiences without leaving home.

Cuddle Session

When is the last time you and your significant other cuddled? Though you may be spending more time at home since the pandemic, most of it is dedicated to your careers and families. Make this Valentine’s Day all about your relationship by planning a cuddle session. You can listen to music, talk, sit by the fire, or binge-watch your favorite movies while wrapped in each other’s arms.

Dinner For Two

Who needs a fancy restaurant to enjoy a romantic meal with your partner? You can create the perfect dinner for two at home. Decide on a menu that includes appetizers, a main course, drinks, and dessert. If necessary, research recipes to ensure you get the meal just right. Then, set the scene with a suitable dining area, place settings, candles, and floral arrangements. For gentlemen looking to pop the question, this is the perfect environment. Simply shop for cheap engagement rings, and when the moment is right, get down on bended-knee and confess your love.

Paint And Sip

Paint and sip is a trendy date night activity where individuals share their love of the arts and fine wine. Participants receive a blank canvas, an easel, paint, and, of course, a glass of wine. An instructor is on-hand to provide tips and tricks on how to mimic the painting of the day. Since the pandemic, many art studios and professionals have hosted online sessions. Your admission pays for your supplies (which are shipped in advance), and you can join other couples and have a great time from the comfort of your home.

Couple’s Game Night

There’s nothing like celebrating Valentine’s Day with a few friends. Ask some of your friends in relationships to join your couple’s game night this year. You and your partner can prepare your snacks and drinks and select a few internet-friendly games. You’ll have a blast playing games like Family Feud, Win, Lose, Or Draw, and charades as you share laughs with those closest to you.

Movies Under The Stars

Movie theaters across the country are closed now, but you and your significant other can still enjoy movie night. Add a little romantic twist to it by watching your favorite flick underneath the nighttime sky. All you need are lawn chairs and comforters, snacks, drinks, a large sheet, and a projector. You’ll be surprised how much it feels like you’re at a drive-in theater.

Spa Night

If you really want to ignite the flames in your relationship, have a couple’s spa night at home. As your bedroom is likely the most spacious and comfortable space in your home, use it to create a therapeutic yet romantic atmosphere. Dim the lights, light some candles, turn on some romantic music and grab some edible aphrodisiacs to tap into the senses.

Then, take a nice warm shower or bath together and finish the pampering by giving each other a nice massage with essential oils before bed in some new sheets. If you can spring for it, there’s also the option to hire a mobile massage therapist to give you guys a professional massage for enhanced health and wellness.

Like the past few holidays, Valentine’s Day is a bit different amid the pandemic. Common date night activities are either restricted or unsafe. While disappointing, that doesn’t mean that you and your partner can’t find ways to shower each other with love at home. As you can see, there are plenty of cheap and affordable ways to spend quality time together while indulging in activities you both enjoy.
