Pottery Barn Kids Story Time

Children are invited to enjoy a special story time at your nearest Pottery Barn store at 11:00am. Children can get a free passport to collect stamps for every story time visit. After collecting five stamps, children will receive a special surprise. The event is free to the public.

Join in the LEGO® Store Monthly Mini Model Build! Upcoming Mini Model Build: LEGO® Space Shuttle: Tuesday, February 3 beginning at 5:00 pm until supplies last. Visit your local LEGO Store on the first Tuesday of every month and you can learn how to build a cool mini model, and take it home – for free! Quantities are limited and offer is good while supplies last only. Models are not for sale and cannot be purchased. One free per child. Event is open to children ages 6 to 14 only. Surf City Nights Street Fair and Farmer’s Market

Surf City Nights is when three blocks of Main Street (between PCH and Orange St.) close to traffic and open to fun. Shops spread out with sidewalk sales, the streets fill with unique vendors, and the farmers set up with fresh, seasonal produce and flowers. It happens every Tuesday year-round from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Free admission.  A variety of performers provide hours of lively entertainment. It’s a place where children dance in the streets, jump in the bounce houses, or ride a pony. It’s for strolling couples, friends’ reunions, and family gatherings. It’s when every restaurant tempts you with signature dishes, cheerful drinks and Surf City Night specials. It’s the perfect place to find that special gift amongst the 90+ vendor booths.  Street parking. Park in the City parking structure off Walnut and 3rd street.

Seeing Wood Canyon bathed in moonlight and shadows is an enchanting experience. Take advantage of this special occasion; the park normally closes at sunset. Senior Park Ranger Joanne Taylor will lead a relaxing and informative 2-mile (150 ft. elevation gain) hike to explore the canyon as it’s seldom seen. Hike runs 5:30pm – 7:30pm for ages 7 and up. Please bring a flashlight, warm clothes, sturdy shoes, and a snack. Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park, Canyon View Staging Area, (from southbound Aliso Creek Road, turn right on Glenwood [turns into Pacific Park] and right on Canyon Vistas. f you’ve ever wondered what happens in the open space when the sun goes down, then sign up for the popular full moon hike. Experience the serenity of a moonlit night in Bommer Canyon. This hike is just over 3 miles and includes 700 feet of total climbing elevation with several very steep inclines. The steepest section ascends 300 feet in a quarter-mile. Participants must be in good physical condition. This hike is suitable for children age 8 and up. Hike runs 6:00pm – 8:30pm. Register online. Driving directions emailed upon registration.

Enjoy Baker Canyon by the light of the full moon! This moderate 3.5-mile hike starts from the bottom of the coastal sage scrub canyon to gain great views at the peeks of the thick chaparral hill tops. Wear sturdy shoes and warm layered clothing as the cool canyon air is chilly at night. Please bring water and a red-LED flashlight or red-tinted flashlight to use along the trails. Be ready to enjoy the night sounds and smells along with the full moon’s glow! This hike is suitable for children age 12 and up. Hike runs 6:30pm – 9:00pm. Register online.
