Join Ranger Zak along with Laguna Canyon Foundation volunteers and bring your young ones (infant to age three) to explore Aliso’s wild backyard. We will see bugs, animal tracks, plants, birds and have all kinds of outdoor fun! Walk runs 9:00am – 11:00am. Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park Ranger Headquarters, 28373 Alicia Parkway (from southbound Aliso Creek Road, turn right on Alicia Parkway, first right on Awma Road, left into parking lot). Nose, Toes & Ears – Preschool Program

Join us for an hour of creativity and fun with an animal theme! Come ready to get a little messy! Class includes hands-on learning, fun crafts, and meeting zoo animals up close. Program runs 10:15am – 11:15am. Ages: 3-4 years old ONLY. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (714) 973-6846. Program fee: $5 per child (includes ONE adult).  Fee includes entrance for child and adult into the zoo. Parking fee: $3 per vehicle.

The Union of the Vietnamese Student Associations of Southern California (UVSA) has been the host of the Tet Festival for over 30 years and, with the spirit and hard work of students and volunteers, help bring the festival to life with a vibrant array of traditional foods, live entertainment, festive games and customs celebrating the Vietnamese Lunar New Year. Festival runs February 20 – 22 at the following times:

  • February 20: 3:00pm – 10:00pm
  • February 21: 10:00am – 10:00pm
  • February 22: 10:00am – 9:00pm

Admission is $6 and parking is $7. (Enter at Gate 8 off Arlington Drive. Sat & Sun: Additional Entry at Gate 3 off Fairview Rd.)

It’s good to drink plenty of milk to have strong bones to help move around and about. Check out the bones of other animals to see how they are similar to or different from our own bones. Examine an owl pellet for real animal’s bones and go on a bone dig like a real archaeologist as you learn about the boney basics! This free program runs 4:00pm – 5:30pm for ages 6 and up. Join us for an edu-taining and enchanted experience as Sub Zero Ice Cream turns chemistry delicious! Learn about liquid nitrogen, heat transfer, chemistry equations, hydrogen bonds and more! At the end of the presentation the students get to eat the fruits of their academic labors with ice cream samples and a coupon! Program begins at 7:00pm. Seats are available on a first come, first serve basis. $3 per person, pay at the door.
