Winder Farms, Its like a Farmers Market on Wheels

There I was, putting on make up and listening to Pandora on my phone prepping to do a few errands that included grocery shopping when I heard a commercial that asked, ” would you rather be at the beach, or go grocery shopping? Would you rather be playing with your kids, or go grocery shopping”?  I giggled and carefully listened.  I am constantly trying to simplify my life so I can spend more time with my family and basically anything that gets me out of grocery shopping.  Enter, Winder Farms.  Later that afternoon, after my errands and grocery shopping were complete, I logged online to check out Winder Farms.

I have tried online grocery shopping with big name stores before when I had three children under the age of four, and wasn’t pleased.  The fruit was bruised, items I had selected were different and the overall experience was not impressive.  Winder Farms website claimed that they would deliver all-natural dairy, farm fresh local produce, fruits, vegetables, fresh squeezed juices, gluten-free items, and fresh-baked goods.  I browsed online and decided to give Winder Farms a try for an upcoming meal I had planned for our dinner club.  My menu was set and I decided to challenge Winder Farms website, and I was pleasantly surprised that the site offered everything I was looking for, including grass-fed beef.  The website was very user-friendly, even arranging a convenient time for me, rather than a set time that they would be in the area.  Everything from making my selections and delivery was simple; next was to test the claims of farm fresh quality food and delivery that is on time as promised.

A week later, my food and produce was scheduled to be delivered, and to be honest, I kind of forgot I scheduled a 7:30 a.m. delivery because getting the three kids out the door for school promptly by 7:40 a.m. is, I’ll be honest, somewhat chaotic.  I was pretty excited to look out my kitchen windows and see a happy delivery guy walking up my drive-way with big grocery bags in hand, and on time.

Delivered on time to my door.

I quickly unloaded my groceries into the refrigerator for my review once home later in the day.  What a great feeling, I could cross off “grocery shopping” off my list of things to do for the dinner party.  With my past experience with online grocery shopping with other stores, I was anxious to look at the fruit and vegetables to see if they truly were farm fresh, unbruised and not overly ripe.  I am pleased to report that the avocados were perfectly selected and the pears that I was using on the salad were gorgeous!

Pears that are ripe and unbruised, wow!

Saturday evening had arrived with the table was set, wine chilled, food prepped, and guests arriving.  I was happy to share my new online shopping source with my friends because we are all looking for healthy options and ways to make it easy.  I had a few flyers to share and then lots of questions to answer having had just gone through the online ordering process, everyone was impressed and anxious to try Winder Farms for themselves.

Knowing the friends in my dinner club, I knew steaks would be a crowd pleaser, so as my husband lightly seasoned the grass-fed steaks, all the men gathered, I’m sure to approve the cut and supervise the cooking.  My husband is in charge of all things BBQ in this house, so while the men were outside, I arranged the salad, plated the vegetables and rolls and our friends were seated to enjoy the salad with those perfect pears.

Organic grass fed beef, talk about tender!

All of our guests agreed that the steaks were some of the best they have ever had, the grass-fed beef was amazing!  In fact, based on the steaks alone, everyone wanted to order from Winder Farms. I think I was most impressed by the level of quality.  The fruit all looked like it was thoughtfully selected just for my order, probably more carefully than I would have done.  As previously mentioned, I have used other stores, and this was a totally different experience, truly impressed. I agree with their tag line “your local farmers market on wheels”, I feel like our produce and beef was of the highest quality . Cheers to Winder Farms and their farm fresh, all natural products … thanks for providing such wonderful products for our dinner guests!
