Winter Wonderfest: A Perfect Way to Keep Cool This Hot Holiday Season

We visited as a guest of the venue

Oh, the weather outside is frightfully hot with the record-breaking heat this holiday season which means my plans for snow play up in the mountains during the holidays has been postponed.  Thank goodness for the Discovery Cube OC’s Winter Wonderfest!  You read it right…snow is coming to Orange County.  Year after year the Discovery Cube OC brings joy, snow, and fun to children and adults.

To experience tubing down a huge 75-foot ramp, sledding, and playing in real snow you need three important things.

1. Warmish jacket. It may be in the high 70’s but baby it gets cold outside next to the ice.

2. Gloves!!! Any kind of gloves would do, but I highly recommend waterproof ones so that your fingers don’t freeze from making snowmen and throwing snowballs.

3. Tickets.  The Discovery Cube OC’s Winter Wonderfest is really popular, and you don’t want to miss out on the fun so make sure you buy your tickets ahead of time online.

The admission package includes general admission to the Science Center and Winter Wonderfest which means you can enjoy the Science of Gingerbread and Santa!  The Science of Gingerbread is one of my favorite exhibits; the only downside is that you can’t eat the art pieces.

Make sure to stop by and check out 2017’s Science of Gingerbread winners, they are amazing!  Lastly, stop by and say hi to the big guy (Santa) who will be on site December 16-24, 11 am – 3 pm.  Discovery Cube OC is a perfect way to create magical holiday memories that will last a lifetime.

I’m an OC mom of two and photographer. I love living in Southern California and want to expose my children to all that it offers. I love taking my kids on adventures and capturing their every moment so much so that my kids find it odd if I don’t take their pictures. You can see my work on
