World Premiere of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
I attended the event as a guest of Disney
Last week something incredible happened…
My daughter and I had just arrived in Yosemite for a mother/daughter getaway. Once we arrived at the hotel, I had to go into a short meeting, and my daughter returned to the room to relax after our long drive. When I returned to the room to meet my daughter, I opened the door, and she started talking with so much excitement that I could barely make out the words that she was saying. Then I heard her say, “Mom, you missed a call while you were gone, and you got invited to the world premiere of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!” And then we both started screaming!!
Words cannot describe how excited and honored I felt to have been invited to this once in a lifetime event. I spent the rest of the week thinking about the premiere and watching the giant starfighter being set-up in front of the Pantages Theatre on the news.
We returned from Yosemite just two days before the premiere, and I spent those two days searching for the perfect ‘Star Wars’ themed dress and getting beautified to look my best while walking the red carpet.
The evening of the premiere, I went to pick-up one of my friends, and we made our way over to Hollywood Boulevard for the premiere. The minute that our driver stopped in front of the red carpet I was in awe of the size of the massive Starfighter at the entrance. We waited in line anxiously to get our tickets and then started walking down the carpet to the entrance of the Pantages.
As I was walking down the red carpet, it was a surreal moment. I had to pinch myself because I couldn’t believe that I was at the premiere of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and that I was going to get to see the movie before anyone else. It was a moment that I will never forget.
Once the last celebrity had walked the red carpet, it was time for the movie to start. Everyone found a seat inside of the Pantages and cheered as the movie began. Stay tuned for my thoughts on the film tomorrow morning…
Following the movie, we joined everyone who attended the premiere at a festive after party. People were dancing and photos were being captured as everyone celebrated the new film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”
While at the premiere party, I didn’t want the night to end. We stayed until the very end of the celebration before ordering a car to take us home.
It was the best night of my life!!
